The Gift Called 'ASKing'

It's been around for a long, long time, this gift called asking. In fact, one of life's fundamental truth states, ask and you shall receive. Isn't that simple? Of course it is. And kids are the masters. Their formula is ususally to ask until they get what they want. As adults, we seem to lose our ability to ask. We come up with all sorts of excuses and reasons to avoid any possibility of rejection. Kids haven't been programmed like that. They really believe they can have anything they ask for, whether it's a fifty-foot swimming pool or a chocolate ice cream cone. Here is what you need to understand: The world responds to those who ask. If you are not moving closer to what you want, you probably aren't asking. When you ask, you receive all sort of information, ideals, strategies, names of people with influence and, yes, even money. There are many good reasons to ask and the reward is substantial. So why do people stumble when they have an oppourtunity to ask?
Essentially there are three reasons.
1. They have a belief system that says it's not right to ask.
2. They lack confidence
3.They fear rejection.

They are also five ways on how to ask and recieve.
1. Ask clearly 2. Ask with confidence. 3. Ask consistently. 4. Ask creatively.5. Ask sincerely.
Don't forget the habit of asking has changed the world.
There are many examples of great leaders who knew how to ask well. And they did it with commitment and passion. Jesus asked his diciples to follow him. They did, and christainity was born. Martin Luther King Jr. had adream of equality for all the people. He asked , and changed the course of history. Mother Teresa asked for help to assist the poor and dying and the Missionaries of charity was created. During World War II, Winston asked the people of United Kingdom to never, never give up, and the Great Briton was saved from invasion. It's important to note that each of this leaders had a powerful vison and total commitment to accomplishing their goal. For them asking was the natural way to make continuous progress.

A Dream Come Through.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today!”The Reverend Martin Luther King,Jr., said these words in his famous “I Have a Dream” speech in Washington, D.C., in 1963. He was America’s most prominent civil rights leader. The civil rights movement was the struggle to get laws and attitudes changed so that black Americans could have rights equal to those of white Americans.
Today, That dream has become a reality as Barak Obama The son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas, the Democratic senator from Illinois sealed his historic triumph by defeating Republican Sen. John McCain in a string of wins in hard-fought battleground states — Ohio, Florida, Iowa and more. He captured Virginia and Indiana, too, the first candidate of his party in 44 years to win either. Obama's election capped a meteoric rise — from mere state senator to president-elect in four years. Do you have a dream?

Stock Market Wahala!

The Great Depression began after the stock market crashed in October 1929. During the 1920s, many Americans had bought stocks—shares of ownership in companies. They hoped to make big profits, and they borrowed money to buy stocks.

When the stock market crashed, stocks lost their value. Some stocks became worthless. People who had put their money in the stock market lost most of it. They still owed the money they had borrowed to buy stocks. In just a few weeks, stocks lost $30 billion in value.

Nigerian stock exchange, NSE, will also be going through what happened to America stock market in the year 1929, if nothing is being done to correct the irregular, nonstandard, uncharacteristic, atypical, anomalous, unusual, strange, odd, deviant, aberrant, malformed and messy state the market is presently going through.

I was not too surprised the last time I walked into my stock brokering firm and saw hundreds of Nigerian trying to sell their stocks because of the regular depreciation of share price.

Listed equities on the floor of NSE are now losing their true worth on daily basis, while some have become worthless due to what an English man will call policy alteration, adjustment, amendment or reformation, .

Most short / medium and even the long team investors who had invested their hard earn income in blue chips stocks in 2007/2008 hoping to reap munificent at the end of the year are now suffering from high blood pressure. And for those that borrowed funds from banks and other financial institutions are now running helter scatter looking for remedy.

The truth is: Investors have lost total confidence /interests in the stock market that started early this year with all kinds of perks. And for those who called themselves the market bettor, gamester, speculator and high roller have all gone into hidey-hole.

Recommending any company’s stock now may be perplexing.

Though, stock forecasters, analysts or specialists are saying this is the best time to buy, but the big question is: who is ready to gamble?

I still believe we have thousands of Stock bettors / genuine investors out there who still want to risk f their money for profit, but they are some fundamental questions they need an exigent answer for before losing their hard earn income. These are some of the questions.

When will all the abnormalities end on the floor of NSE? Is there any bailout plans for the market? What is SEC, CBN, The House of Representative / Senate and other regulatory bodies doing to help the situation? These are fundamental questions investors want an exigent answer for before entrusting their hard earns income into the hands of their brokers.

I will wan to end this piece by saying, license me to say this to whoever cares to listen; the market will crash anytime from now if all the so-called regulatory bodies keep doing nothing to stop all the abnormalities the market is currently going through. And this is to say, you can also burn your fingers or lose your esteemed equities if you invest your money in any stock without carrying out proper investigation.

Don’t forget equity investment or investment of any kind is a risk that is only meant for investors that has a rich mind.

Happy Independence?

Just two years from today Nigeria will be 50 year old. Yes! 50 years, i can hear some people yelling so quick? 1960 seems like yesternight in the eyes of so many Nigerians who are agog to see a true independent nation.

Wait a minute, can you please take a snap shot of 48year old man whom God blessed with every good gift yet, his family lives in
hopelessness, miserable, wretched, dismal, horrible, gloomy and utter
proverty of pennilessness, destitution, indigence neediness and impecuniousness instead of extravagance, indulgence, bonus, amenity, frill nd superfluity . And what you will get from the snap is the 48year old Nigeria.
48 years ago, some nationalist agitated for the freedom of today Nigeria. Today, millions of Nigerians are still agitating for the same independece Nigeria gained 48years ago, this is because the present Nigeria do not look like an independent nation where rule of law and order prevails.

The question is: How many Nigerians can proudly say 'i'm proud to be a Nigeria?' How many? We now hide our identity because of shame, because we have not done well as a nation, nd as an individual. Today, i choose not to write much about somany Nigerians who hate the green white green flag with passion. Or what do you expect from an oil rich nation whose people still lives like destitude. Maybe you dont understand what am talking about, i will suggest you take a two minute drive to any traffic jam nd see for yourself how somany Nigerians try to survive by go slow race known as survival of the fittess. Chasing bus drivers just because they want to sell a sachet of water to earn a living. And if you re fortunate to leave your house when the traffic is less, please check out for yourself the environment, it's a message on it own.

I see nothing wrong with the name Nigeria, but permit me to say something is wrong with the people of Nigeria and especially the so called leaders who
maskmask, costume, camouflage, masquerade, cover, cloak, front, veneer and conceal
themselves in a patrotic uniforms and keep displaying disloyalty to the electorate who wasted their precious time exercising their political franchise.

Our leaders ve changed, they are no longer responsible to take responsibility. Some of them now prefer to drink crude oil instead of water. They prefer to do their own personal business at the expense of the business of governance.

Since their children dont study here in Nigeria, what do u expect from our educational sector.

And since they can also afford to travel by air, there is no reasons for us to have a good road. Is there any need to improve the health system when they can jet out anytime for medical check.

Today 1st of october, calls for a serious somber, solemn, thoughtful, calm, grave, unexcited, unruffled, subdued, restrained, severe, sedate and a staid time,
nd not for any sensible Nigerian to socialize, do get-together, do festivity, revelry, merrymaking, bash, celebration or blast
Let's assess, appraise, gauge, estimate, calculate, weigh, value, price, weigh up today for a better tomorrow.

Let us not also forget that nations dont make people but people makes nation. To build a better Nigeria it's not the business of our leaders alone, we all have a strong role to play if we want a better nigeria.

Let support our good leaders and expose the bad ones among them. Pray for them nd dont be pestimistic about the future of this country.
